Douglas Dean Murphy's Obituary
Douglas Dean Murphy, age 85, of St. Clair died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 19, 2021. He was born May 1, 1935 in Detroit to the late Sumner and Evelyn Murphy.
Doug proudly served his country as an MP with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was founder of D.D. Murphy and Associates and co-owner of Michigan Precision Swiss Parts. Doug was a proud lifetime Rotarian and member of the St. Clair Rotary Club. He was also a longtime active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Clair. He also held long term memberships in the St. Clair Golf Club, St. Clair Investment Club and the Harbour Town Yacht Club and enjoyed many years of boating.
Doug is survived by his children, Linda Emig, David (Jo) Murphy, Mark Murphy, Julie (Jim) Gamber and Liz (Rick) Schweihofer; grandchildren, Heather, Lauren, Jerry, Amy, Jenny, Daniel, Amberly, Allison, Jade, Jenna, Kent, Emma, Emily, John, Nicole, Trevor and Graham; 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marion “Mimi” Murphy and brother, Ron (Betty) Murphy.
Private family graveside services have been conducted with a Celebration of Life to be held for both Doug and Mimi at a later date.
