Dorothy M. Smith's Obituary
Dorothy Marie Smith, age 79 of Sandusky, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 15, 2010 after a strenuous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
She was born on May 18, 1930 in Croswell. She married Donald E. Smith on October 11, 1947 in Sandusky. Dorothy was a past Avon representative and homemaker, raising one son and three daughters. Dorothy’s pleasures in life were not complicated; she loved spending time with family and when her health allowed she enjoyed going to services and singing in the choir at the Country Side Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son; Bill (Judy) Smith, daughters; Diane (John) Morales, Denise (Garry) Evans, and Debbie (Larry) Zimmer. Grandchildren; Cheri VanConant, Shelli Ross, Greg Jackson, Krissy Grant, Ryan Smith, Kelly Smith, Travis Evans, and Jennifer Harmon. 12 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Don. Sister; Pat Evans, brother; Leroy Miller, and granddaughter, Stephanie Evans.
Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Zion Cemetery. A memorial will take place at a later date. Arrangements by Young Funeral Home, China Twp. www.youngcolonial.com
