Dorothy "Pat" Sass' Obituary
Dorothy "Pat" Sass, age 87, of East China Twp. passed away May 4, 2013. She was born to the late Edwin and Marjorie Tyler on March 16, 1926 in Port Huron. She married Shirley Walter Sass in October 1949. He preceded her in death in October 1976. She worked at Blue Water Plastics and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, St. Clair.
She is survived by her children; Karen (David) Klink of Port Huron, MI, Cindy (Jim) Rourke of Algonac, MI, Sandra (Gary) Meyer of Eagan, MN, Douglas (Christine) Sass of Marysville, MI, Julie Sass, of Elgin, IL, grandchildren: Tiffani Buchanan, Derek Klink, Bryce Meyer, Neal Meyer, Patrick Rourke, Rachel Sass, Michael Sass, great-grandchildren; Phillip Buchanan and Alexander Meyer.
She is also survived by sisters; Beverly (Robert) Shannon of Richmond, MI, Margaret I. Wiegand of Yale, MI, Jean Tyler of Ft. Gratiot, MI, brother-in-law; Howard Sass of Chicago, IL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister; Marion Guyette, brother; William K. Tyler, grandson; Matthew Douglas Sass, and son-in-law Christopher Cole.
The family would like to thank the following for their love and care given to our mother during her illness: The many staff at River Bend Assisted Living, Barb, Jackie, and Sally of Reverence Hospice, and Danielle Holt and family.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China, Twp. and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, St. Clair, Reverence Hospice, or St. Clair Ecumenical Food Pantry. www.youngcolonial.com
