Dorothy Kotranza's Obituary
Dorothy Kotranza, age 82, of Wales Twp., passed away on June 8th, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 4, 1943, in Detroit, to the late Floyd and Mary Kaminski. Dorothy graduated from Girls Catholic Central High School, class of 1961. She married Jerry Kotranza on November 3, 1962. Dorothy worked several jobs all over Memphis and part of Richmond area retiring as a custodian for the Memphis School District. She was a proud mother, who cherished the time she spent with her family. Dorothy had an incredible work ethic. She was always on the go, from working, to caring for the children, to making sure the house was clean and in order.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jerry Kotranza; sons, Don (Denise) Kotranza, Jon Kotranza; grandchildren, Josh (Rebecca), Andrew (Tricia), Erin, Eric (Ashton), Devin (Claudia); 8 great grandchildren; brother, Paul (Sue) Kaminski, as well as many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca (Ken) Merritt.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family, to leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
