Dorothy E. "Dotty" Herbert's Obituary
Dorothy E. "Dotty" Herbert, age 83, of China Twp., passed away February 8, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born January 17, 1942 in Roseville to the late William and Dorothy McKeown.
She married Douglas Herbert on February 11, 1961. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1998.
Dotty enjoyed her job as a bus driver for East China School District. She retired in 2000 after 15 years of service.
She was an artsy- crafty type person and enjoyed crocheting, woodworking and gardening. Most of all she cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was strong in her faith and belonged to Holy Cross Catholic Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by her children; Debbi Fraley, Cindy (Steve) Hutchins, Doug, Jr. (Shannon) Herbert, Chris (Stacy) Herbert and Denise Herbert.
She is also survived by her grandchildren; Samantha Fraley, Jacob (Becki) Fraley, Cory Hutchins, Tyler Hutchins, Caleb Herbert, Lucy Herbert and Anna Herbert; her great-grandchildren; Aiden Hutchins and Gabriel Fraley, along with her sister; Marian (Syl) Ringel.
She was preceded in death by her son in-law; Mark Fraley and brothers; William McKeown, James McKeown and Thomas McKeown.
Funeral mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14 at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Catholic Church, Marine City. Visiting will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Blue Water Hospice.
