Dorothy J. Durand's Obituary
Dorothy J. Durand, age 80, of Algonac, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2022. She was born to the late Otto and Rose Gabelmann on November 12, 1941. Dorothy married Remie P. Durand on November 10, 1978. Dorothy was extremely crafty. She could make anything and everything. She would spend a lot of time sewing, painting, doing porcelain projects, custom drapes, seamstress, as well as several other crafts. Dorothy was a good cook, but she always appreciated good food. Her and Remie would go to various exotic restaurants to try new meals. Dorothy also enjoyed traveling, her and Remie took road trips in their R.V. going to 47 different states.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Remie; children, Steve Kernya, Remi (Lynn) Durand, David (Cathy) Kernya, Reneé (Steve) Beamer, Dennis (Sandy) Kernya, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, as well as several special other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, November 1st at 7:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
