Doris A. Thueme's Obituary
Doris A. Thueme, St. Clair, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at the age of 86 in Fort Pierce, Florida, surrounded by her devoted family. Doris, was born to Hilda and Elmer J. Lomerson on September 22, 1932. She graduated from Marine City High School in June, 1950. Doris married Clarence Thueme on April 7, 1951 and enjoyed 11 years of marriage before the Lord called Clarence home on October 9, 1962. Following Clarence’s death, Doris returned to college and became a nurse at River District, Mercy and Port Huron Hospitals. Doris loved the Lord, her family and was gifted with many talents including china painting, quilting, knitting, sewing, floral arranging, crocheting, cooking, card playing, and holding babies. Doris enjoyed the beauty of Michigan, but always looked forward to fleeing Michigan’s cold winter months and spending time with her Florida family. Doris will forever be cherished by her family; daughters Kathy (Steve) Ellery, St. Clair, Diane (Fred) Cunningham, Wesley Chapel, Florida, and Sharon Lawson, Port Sanilac, son-in-law Ken Kane, Grand Rapids, 11 grandchildren-Scott Kane, Christy Troost, Tricia Gunnink, Jonathon (JC) Cunningham, Jenn Beaudoin, Brandon Olver, Laura Highfill, Katie Peabody, TJ Olver, Heather and Ben Ellery, 23 great grandchildren, sister Marilyn (John) Beattie, brother Elmer Lee (Dorothy) Lomerson, Sisters-in-law Karen Hanson, Loretta Lukasak, Ilean Labuhn and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, daughters Claudia Kane and Kay, and brother John Lomerson.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Casco. The Rev J.C. Cunningham, officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Youngs Funeral Home-E. China and 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made will be distributed to the charities that served Doris.
