Doris A. Cole's Obituary
Doris Sugars Cole (nee Marker), age 96, of Casco Twp., died December 29, 2016. She was born December 1, 1920 in Casco Twp. to the late Fred and Clara (Sass) Marker.
Over the course of her lifetime Doris lived in Japan, Italy, Iran and Hawaii then moved to Arizona, where she lived for 30 years before moving back to Casco Twp. Doris worked as a beautician in Port Huron for a short time and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and painting. She attended St. Matthews United Church of Christ, Adair, where she was also baptized and confirmed.
Doris is survived by her nieces and nephews, James and Leslie Marker, Jan and Gary Stockton, Fran Klabius, Gary and Joanne Marker, David and Judy Marker, Vern and Sharon Bickley, Dale and Donna Bickley, Bob and Nancy Bickley, Dawn, Donna, Patricia and Tom Sugars and many great nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Walter Sugars and William Cole; daughter, Cheryl Bradley; brothers, Harcil and Fred Marker; twin sister, Dorothy Fields; nephew, Thomas Marker; foster sisters, Delphine Thueme and June Zimmer; foster brother Harry Bickley.
A memorial service will be held Saturday January 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Family will receive visitors one hour prior from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Matthews UCC, Adair.
