Doretta J. "Dori" Franklin's Obituary
Doretta J. "Dori" Franklin, age 70, of St. Clair, went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2024. She was born April 2, 1953 in St. Clair to the late Herbert and Barbara Ruff.
She worked as an LPN at Marwood Nursing and Rehab and retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of Colonial Woods Missionary Church, Port Huron. She took her nursing skills to do missionary work to Guatemala to help those in need.
Dori enjoyed writing poetry, reading, traveling, bible studies and all social gatherings. She cherished being a grandma most of all.
She is survived by her husband; Denis Franklin, daughter; Heather Franklin, son; Jason (Cassie) Franklin and grandchildren; Arielle and Elisabeth Franklin.
She is also survived by her brother; David Ruff, sister; Linda (John) Johnson, nephew; Robert Drue and other extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her brother; Steven Ruff.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service.
