Donald Weichert's Obituary
Donald Weichert, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed
peacefully on February 22, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on
August 24, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Harold O. Weichert and
Maude (Barber) Weichert. He is survived by his wife Lois (Snyder) Weichert,
who was by his side for 67 years. His memory and legacy will be forever
cherished by his children: Jane Brady (Robert) and Timothy Weichert
(Michelle), as well as his four grandchildren: Jordan Brady, Griffin Brady,
Noah Weichert, and Jacob Weichert.
Don and Lois have spent the last 40 years in Algonac, where Don
enjoyed all the lake and river have to offer. He is known and remembered by
many as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal. Don was a
member of several professional education and coaching organizations. He
was active in the congregation of St. John’s United Church of Christ, a place
he held very dear.
To honor Don’s memory, a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be
held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home. Visitation prior to service will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
