Donald B. Fordt's Obituary
Donald B. Fordt, age 91, of East China, passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2021. He was born May 10, 1930 to the late Arthur and Erma Fordt. Don married Lois Henderson. He was a longtime member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2251, St. Clair. He was also a fourth-degree member of the Richmond Assembly and actively served on the Color Corp Honor Guard. Don was a hard worker who proudly owned and operated his own dry-wall company for 40 years. Don enjoyed his trips to his cabin that he built in Lewiston.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Sharon (Dave) Shovan, Marietta (Rob) Holt, Donn Fordt, Traci (Steve) Gillman, Julie (Brian) Roy, Jonn (Denise) Fordt; grandchildren, Jody, Jamie, Becky, Lindsay, Ashley, Nathan, Chelsea, Tyler, Heather, Eric, Tera; great grandchildren, Austin, Carter, Ali, Jordan, Ashley, Emmett, Reece; siblings, Delbert (Phyllis) Fordt, Dennis Fordt, and Sue Menkel.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Teri Fordt; siblings, Arnold Fordt, and Anna Furtah.
A funeral mass will be Friday, December 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 9 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery, East China.
