Mr. Donald Allen Diem's Obituary
Donald Allen Diem, age 83, of St. Clair, died November 1, 2013. He was born December 31, 1929 at the family farm house in Marine City to the late Earl C. and Katherine (Beebe) Diem.
On November 10, 1951 Don married Dorothy Mae Recor. She preceded him in death in 2002.
Don began his career as a car salesman at the age of 20. During the 1950's he owned several dealerships including Packard, Lincoln-Mercury and Edsel.
In the early 1960's Don became one of the "Dodge Boys", working at both Van Dyke Dodge and Colonial Dodge in East Detroit. Within a few years he became one of the top Dodge salesmen in the country. He retired in the late 1990's.
He is survived by sons; Harry Diem of St. Clair, Donald A. Diem Jr., of East China and daughter; Barbara Bradley of Skandia, Michigan.
Grandchildren; Nick Diem, Gabriel Caplett, Aura Caplett and Anna Bradley and great granddaughter; Violet Diem. He is also survived by a sister; Marianna Hamlin and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
