Dolores M. Potrykus' Obituary
Dolores M. Potrykus, age 93, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home on June 19, 2026 with family by her side. She was born on December 8, 1932 to the late Sam and Anna Czerniawski. Dolores was a graduate of St. Clair High School class of 1950. She went on to St. Joes Practical School of Nursing. Following nursing school, Dolores began working at St. Clair Community Hospital. She eventually retired from Mercy Hospital, Port Huron after over 40 years of dedicated and compassionate service. She married Vern Potrykus in 1977- Vern preceded her in death on May 4, 2000. Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she especially cherished the casino and shopping trips. Her selflessness and generous soul will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Donna Simonian, Pam (Sam) Justa, Tony Czerniawski, Carol, Barbara, and Eugene Czerniawski. As well as John (Tara) Simonian, Jordan Simonian, and several other special, great nieces, nephews, and foster brothers and sisters.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Wanda Chamberlin, Tony Czerniawski, Peter Czerniawski.
