Dolores Michlewicz's Obituary
Dolores Michlewicz, age 78, of Saint Clair passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014. She was born on September 26, 1935 in Detroit to Joseph and Alexandra Kustra. She married Eugene Michlewicz on September 10, 1955. Through fifty-eight years of marriage, Dolores and Eugene raised two children and had a profoundly positive impact on the lives of their six grandchildren.
Dolores was an executive secretary for The Ford Motor Company for many years prior to leaving the workforce to raise her children. She was a woman of great integrity who was tremendously devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. She always placed her interests behind the well- being of her family. She was very close to her grandchildren and fulfilled many roles on their behalf, including being a mentor throughout their lives. Dolores was a fearless and uncompromising advocate for honesty and accountability. She was deeply admired and respected by those who knew her for her diligent work ethic, selfless generosity, frank humor, uncompromising adherence to moral values, and the forthright manner in which she interacted with others.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Eugene; son, Kevin; daughter-in-law,
Jean Michlewicz; son-in-law, John Broderick; six grandchildren, Stefanie Broderick (Brian Treusch), Bernadette “Beanya” Broderick, John Broderick, Josef Broderick, Hannah Broderick, Milena Michlewicz; and numerous beloved in-laws, cousins, and friends. Dolores is preceded in death by her daughter; Denise Broderick.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Highway, East China, MI 48054. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair, with visitation beginning one hour prior to Mass.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
