Diane Lynne Shirkey's Obituary
Diane Lynne Shirkey, age 53, of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by her loving family on June 3, 2012. She was born July 29, 1958 in St. Clair. Diane was a three year breast cancer survivor and lost a courageous battle with lung cancer. Diane worked with great pride for the community with persons of all abilities.
She will be dearly missed by all, but never forgotten.
She is survived by her father; Elmer Shirkey, brothers; Doug (Deborah) Shirkey and David (Paula) Shirkey, sister; Dawn (Richard) Stone, nieces and nephews; Jessica, Danny, Amy, Michael, April, Rodney and Zachary, extended family; Richard and Susan Volkening, beloved pets; Elmo and Destiny and many friends at Community Enterprises of St. Clair Co. and Blue Water Developmental Housing.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Marsha Shirkey, brother; Daniel Shirkey, nephew; Travis Stone and grandparents.
Funeral services will be Friday June 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Wednesday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Community Enterprises of St. Clair Co. 1033 26th St. Port Huron or the wishes of the family.
