Diane was my dear friend Greg’s mother. She had a unique style…A fabulous flare for fashion with a beautiful soul who was extremely generous with her time and talents.
God and family were her priorities. If you were fortunate enough to be a friend you were welcomed into her family.
While my youngest was in elementary school…
I noticed my Girl Scout Troop of 12 could use an etiquette lesson. As a change of pace, I called Diane. She opened her home to 12 eight year old girls and I in the middle of a Michigan Winter. Diane didn't miss a beat. The table was extravagantly set billowing with fresh flowers and linens. Mrs. Grass Chicken Soup was on the menu. Diane served every girl with her smile that I know lit up many rooms in the past. Her generosity didn't stop with the soup. Homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk were the closing act.
Diane stood by as each girl prepared to depart. Patiently she waited while they donned their snow suits, boots and backpacks.
Her parting words were, "Come back during the summer when the pool is open!”
God bless her family. May her light continue to shine.
Aunt Diane was always the life of the party. She was always smiling. She is deeply missed.
