Mrs. Delores L. Schunk's Obituary
Delores L. Schunk, age 84, of China Twp., died November 5, 2012. She was born April 10, 1928 in Cottrellville Twp. to the late Arnold and Bertha Dodge. Delores graduated from Marine City High School then attended Eastern Michigan Normal College. On April 14, 1951 Delores married Kenneth Schunk in St. John's United Church of Christ, Marine City. She retired from the Detroit Gasket, Marine City. Delores was an active member of St. John's UCC where she taught Sunday School. She was a former Den Leader with the Cub Scouts. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks and recipes, gardening, canning and cooking.
Delores is survived by her husband of 61 years Kenneth Schunk, son and daughter in law; Duane and Karen Schunk, grandsons; Erik (Kayla) Schunk and Kevin Schunk, sisters; Helen DeLude, Florence Duetsch and Betty Reynolds. She was preceded in death by brothers; Arnold Jr. and LaVerne Dodge and sister; Evelyn Summerville.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday November 9th at 12:00 noon at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to St. John's UCC, Marine City.
