David R. Spies' Obituary
David R. Spies, age 74, of Cottrellville Twp., formerly of Utica, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2023. He was born in Detroit on June 8, 1949 to the late David and Flo Spies. David was born and raised in Detroit. In his mid-20s he moved to the Utica area where he resided for the next 30 years. David worked for Ford for 35 years. He spent most of his time at the Romeo Plant. From a young age, David had a passion for classic cars. Being a talented mechanic, he loved tinkering, taking apart, and putting back together cars. If he wasn’t under the hood, he was enjoying long car rides down country roads, especially with his dog, Annie.
He is survived by his sons; Don Spies, David Spies, Robert (Lindsay) Spies; faithful companion Abby; and sister, Sandra Stuart.
