David Allen Patterson's Obituary
David Allen Patterson, age 74, of St. Clair, passed away on January 7, 2025. Born on October 13, 1950, David devoted his life to his family and his community, embodying the qualities of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a pillar of strength, known for his hard work, caring, loving and giving nature.
David had a distinguished career, first as an engineer for the Grand Trunk, later serving as a Sheriff deputy before being promoted to detective, and in retirement, rose through the ranks of several Masonic lodges. His commitment to service was evident in both his professional and personal life. David’s eagerness to learn played a pivotal role in his successful career. His life was a testament to discipline and dedication.
David was an avid member of the Masonic family, dedicating much of his time and effort to the fraternity's activities and community services. His commitment and enthusiasm for Masonic principles were well recognized among his peers.
David’s hobbies included charitable acts, hunting, fishing, mowing and tinkering with anything and everything. These activities were a reflection of his generous spirit and inventive mind.
David is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Pamela Patterson (Daniel) Edgar; son, David (Sharon) Patterson; grandchildren, Kyleleigh Patterson, Schuyler Patterson-Rostine (Shelby Patterson-Rostine), Mason Patterson, and Natalie Patterson; brothers, James, Michael, Steve Patterson and Tom Morgan; sisters, Gail Hayes and Marlene Davis; and his beloved grand-dog Zelda.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Patterson, his parents, James and Wanda Patterson, and stepmother Angeline Patterson.
David Allen Patterson will be remembered as a steadfast presence in the lives of those he touched, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.
A Celebration of Life will be held in David’s honor on Sunday, January 19th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Port Huron Masonic Ballroom, 927 Sixth St., Port Huron.
