David Miotke's Obituary
David Miotke, 80, of East China, MI, passed away on November 13, 2023. David was born on January 28, 1943, in Dearborn, MI, to the late Frank and Helen (Uzarek) Miotke. He graduated from St. Alphonsus High School in Dearborn in 1961. He married Audrey Garbacik on May 29, 1965.
David cherished his family, friends, and Catholic faith. He was the proud father to three sons and one daughter and proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a beloved brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. He had an entrepreneurial spirit that resulted in starting St. Clair Packaging in 1980. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the St. Clair Golf Club, and the St. Clair Investment Club. He had a passion for the horses, the Detroit Red Wings, and entertaining at Dave’s bar, and he will always be remembered as being the life of the party.
David is survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey Miotke; son Mark (Anastasia) Miotke; daughter Lynn (Mark) St. Pierre; son Paul (Kathleen) Miotke; son Alan (DeAnna) Miotke; sister Phyllis Nyquist; and brothers Michael (Judy) and Matthew (Brenda) Miotke. He is preceded in death by his sister Sr. Kathleen Miotke OP and his brothers Fred, Norbert, and Jim Miotke.
A visitation will be held at the Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Highway, East China, MI on Friday, November 17, from 2:00 – 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Dave will also be lying in repose Saturday, November 18, from 10:00 am until the commencement of the funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, 1000 Michigan Ave., Marysville, MI, presided by Fr.
