David Arthur Konik's Obituary
David Arthur Konik, age 53, passed away January 5, 2024. He was born June 9, 1970 to the late Charles and Suzanne Konik. He enjoyed playing golf and hockey, but spent most of his free time hanging out and playing games with family and friends. He enjoyed going to zoos all across the country, as he was an avid animal lover, with having multiple species of pets himself including snakes, lizards, ferrets, a rabbit and a cat. David graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1988. He was a career truck driver, beginning with his service of over 20 years with Schneider National in 1991. He then purchased his own truck and became independent in 2013. In December of 2023 he joined the team at Walmart Transport where he had hoped to finish out his career. David is survived by his siblings; Christine (Bob) Wood, Andrew (Kat) Konik, and Denise Turke; his Best Friend Sally Hendzell and her children, Alexander and Abigail (Devon). He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Amanda (Logan), Sara (Jason), Jonathon, Alexis, Breanna, Chloe, Alex, and Max: great nieces and nephews, Avery, Brooke, Chase, Elise, Lainey and Adalyn. Memorials may be made to The Detroit Zoological Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A funeral service will be Wednesday, January 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, January 9th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
