David Robert Gooden's Obituary
David Robert Gooden of Fort Gratiot passed away on October 1, 2025 at the age of 74. He was born in Detroit on November 18, 1950 to Robert and Alice Gooden. He attended East Catholic High School and went on to Ferris State University. He is the loving husband of Lynda, cherished father of Adam (Cindy) and Robert (Hannah), beloved papa of Emily, Nathan, Megan, Ella and Daphne. Dearest brother of Karen (Terry) Sprys, loving uncle of Jeff and the late Amanda, dear cousin of Rick (Rita) Fries. Also survived by Linda’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his sister-in-law Sandra who lived with David and Lynda. David was a proud historian that led him into Civil War Reenacting for 49 years in the 17th Michigan Infantry. He portrayed a Colonel for the North and the South as needed. He was proud of his small roles in the movies “Gettysburg” and “War Flowers”. A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. Memorial Service at Young-Colonial Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Hwy. East China, Michigan.
