Mr. David Alex Dziedzic's Obituary
David Alex Dziedzic, age 63, of East China Twp., died on January 30, 2015. He was born to Alex and Irene (Dietlin) on October 13, 1951. As a child he attended Maple Crest School, a one room schoolhouse in China Township. He graduated from Holy Cross High School, Marine City and Macomb Community College. He married Sheila Schreiner on November 14, 1969 and they celebrated their 45th anniversary in Hawaii. He was a master electrician and worked for Ford Motor Company Utica Trim Plant for 33 years until retirement in 2009. Dave was a past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council #856, Marine City and was a member of the K of C 4th Degree Richmond Assembly #480. He was also a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City.
Dave loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them at the family cabin in Roscommon, where he would canoe or snowmobile and play euchre. He was a charter member of The Au Sable River Rabble Rousers and he loved hosting his annual “Papa’s Weekend” with his grandchildren. He liked to travel and recently went to Poland and completed his quest to visit all 50 states.
Dave is survived by his wife, Sheila, four sons, David, Jr. (Jillian) of Midland, Scott (Megan) of China Twp., Michael (Kelly) of Richland and Adam (Maria) of New Baltimore, and 10 grandchildren, Nicholas (Heather), Devin, Elizabeth, Zachary, Gabrielle, Jillian, Maggie, Delaney, Donovan and Lucas. Also, brother, Larry (Antoinette) of St. Clair and sisters, Diane (Jim) Blattert of Haslett and Cathy (Bob) Lipa of East China Twp., aunts, Rose McCormick, Frances Osterland, Sylvia Dietlin and Margaret Dietlin, many nieces, nephews and very good friends. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Irene Dziedzic, in-laws, Beal and Lucy Schreiner and grandson Alec Dziedzic.
A funeral mass will be Tuesday February 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Visiting hours are Sunday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to mass. A rosary recital will be Monday at 7:00 p.m.
