Dave Wilkie's Obituary
Howard “David” Wilkie age 69, of East China Twp., passed away Wednesday, February 28th, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. David was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina on August 25, 1948 to Bertha Mae Biddix and Howard Junior Wilkie. He graduated from West Henderson High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971. He moved to Michigan in 1972. He married Linda Bieth on November 11, 1977 at Holy Cross Church in Marine City. They celebrated 40 years of marriage in November 2017. He worked for 40+ years in the automotive industry. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, coaching his kids sports teams, and playing semi pro baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Mary Wilkie, and Bertha and Joseph Martin.
He is survived by his wife Linda Wilkie, children Kelly (Jeffrey) Tackaberry, Eric Wilkie (Lesley), Kraig (Cedar) Wilkie, and Christopher (Darla) Dew; grandchildren-- Seth Tackaberry, Kendall, Nathan, Braylen, Wesley, and Parker Wilkie, Ryan, Madison, and Olivia Dew; siblings Gordon Wilkie (Shirley), Mary Calhoun, Kathy Rogers, Roger (Rhonda) Martin, and Robyn (Anthony) McGee, additional nieces, nephews, in laws, and many friends.
Visitation will be held at Young Funeral Home in China, MI on Friday March 2nd, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 3rd at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
Donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America-Port Huron Chapter or the Grace Bible Church-St. Clair.
