Daniel E. Moran's Obituary
Daniel Edward Moran, died on January 18, 2019 in St. Clair, Michigan. Dan was born in Detroit on November 23, 1955, the son of Arthur and Jeanne Moran. He graduated from Walled Lake Central High School in 1973 and worked at Art Moran Pontiac Buick GMC in Southfield from 1973 until 1986. In 1987, he was a founder of Art Moran Auto Plaza in North Palm Beach, Florida, which he managed until 1997. In 1998 Dan and his family relocated to St. Clair where Dan became a partner in what is now St. Clair Chevrolet Buick GMC. In December 2004, he expanded his business to include St. Clair Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.
Dan found joy spending time with friends and family, especially his loving wife Pam and sons Pat, Ben and Chris. He adored animals. Dogs were always part of his family. Dan loved hockey and grew up playing on his family’s homemade rink and in hockey leagues in Southfield. He shared his passion for hockey with his sons Pat, Ben and Chris and never missed any of their practices or games. He was an avid and talented golfer and a member of St. Clair Golf Club for more than 20 years.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Jeanne. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Pam Rosiek Moran and his children Patrick Henry Moran, Benjamin Arthur Moran and Christopher James Moran. Dan is also survived by his brothers Bob (Betsy) and Tom (Kelly), his sisters Kristen, Carol, Janice (Marcy Koftan) and Jill (George Golder), by his in-laws Hank and Wanda Rosiek, his sister-in-law Sue Rosiek (Steve Barnaby), his brothers-in-law Ken Rosiek and Paul Rosiek, and by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Highway, East China, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 10 a.m., with additional visitation beginning at 9 a.m.
