Dale John Fraley's Obituary
Dale John Fraley, age 66, of Parker, Colorado passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 8, 2024. He was born March 20, 1958, in St. Clair, Michigan, son of Frank and Mary Ann (Biskner) Fraley.
Dale grew up in St. Clair, Michigan and graduated from St. Clair High School in 1976. As a teenager, Dale had a passion for nice cars that he enjoyed racing at the local drag strip and bringing home the trophies. Some of his favorites were a ’65 Mustang, Roadrunner, Duster but his pride and joy was a mint 1970 Chevy Chevelle – he loved that car! Dale would buy and sell cars… his favorite saying: “I got it, You want it, Pay for it”.
The Riverside Bar in St. Clair was where Dale would gather with his friends to hang out and catch up on the local gossip. But it was at another local hangout, the St. Clair River Lanes, where Dale met the love of his life, Doris Yasuda, who was in town on a job assignment when the Belle River Power Plant was under construction. It didn’t take long before they knew it was true love, and they were married on November 3, 1982, in Caldwell, Idaho where Doris grew up.
Dale started his career as a teenager pumping gas at Callahan’s (aka Kelly’s) Service Station, before taking a job as a truck driver for Theut Products in Marysville, Michigan. He also worked with Kammer Asphalt and Molesworth Companies. From there his passion for driving continued as he worked for UPS in Connecticut. When Dale and Doris were relocated to Colorado, he worked for US Food Service and then YRC (Yellow Roadway) Trucking Corporation. During his time with YRC, Dale was recognized for his safe driving record where he was the recipient of not one, but three One Million Miles Driver Awards.
Dale and Doris started their family in St. Clair, Michigan, first welcomed their daughter, Maegen, and soon after came Lyndsey. After a few transfers and relocations, they settled in Parker, Colorado where the family still resides.
Dale was a loving husband, father and “Papa” and he always put his family first. Though at times his career took him on the road, he took great pride in his two daughters and eventually his grandchildren. Dale enjoyed going to their activities and many sporting events, always on the sidelines taking videos and many pictures. The love he shared with each of his grandchildren will be a special memory to all of them. When Dale retired in 2019, he became their chauffeur, taking them to and from their activities that ended with special treats at their favorite restaurants.
No one was a stranger to Dale. He could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Dale was known for his huge heart and his willingness to help everyone by sharing a good laugh, being a good listener, or offering some kind words of advice and encouragement. During Dale’s retirement he became actively involved with Hope Provision Food Bank by being responsible for the weekly drives to the food warehouse and the distribution of the food.
Even after his move to Colorado, Dale cherished his family back in Michigan and the beautiful area of the Upper Peninsula and St. Clair. A graveside service will be held in St. Clair, Michigan at a later date.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Doris; daughter Maegen and her husband Tyler and their children Kayne, Easton and Eleanor; daughter Lyndsey and her husband Brandon and their children Kason, Kynadee, and Campbell; his siblings Mike Fraley (Lisa), Christine Kosche (Eric), Toni Biscarner (Howard), Jodi Rider (Al); his mother Mary Ann Fraley; and his large extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Fraley.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery Chapel, St. Clair, Michigan.
