Craig Tomlin's Obituary
Craig Tomlin, age 74, of Marine City, passed away Dec. 23, 2022. Craig graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Landscape and Horticulture. He studied abroad at one of the largest nurseries in England. He then went on to teach landscape and horticulture in a vocational school. He was drafted and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years as a Data Communications Officer. He was stationed at Mayport Naval Base in Jacksonville, Florida. This is when he met Sandra Westberry, a Lieutenant Commander’s daughter. They later married in 1970 and were blessed with six children. Jennifer (Matt) Tranchida, Heather (Joshua) Vella, Bryan Tomlin, Cheryl Tomlin, Lorie Tomlin and Kimberly Tomlin (Parker Bengry) and 11 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Craig was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Tomlin and daughter, Cheryl Tomlin.
Craig worked for the Marine City Water Plant as an operator until his retirement. He also served as Union Steward for the Marine City Pension Board. Craig loved his hometown of Marine City.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Friday, December 30th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. with military honors and memorial service starting at 7:00 p.m.
