Craig Alan Coverdill's Obituary
Craig Alan Coverdill, 75, of Marine City, MI, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend- passed away suddenly on July 30, 2022.
He was born to the late Ernest and Marga Coverdill and grew up in Lathrup Village, MI. Craig attended Macomb County Community College to attain his Tool & Die Maker certification and married Jean in 1970. He was drafted into the Army and was honorably discharged. Craig enjoyed flying, traveling, the family cottage on Lake Huron, and going up north. He lived at his current address for over 47 years.
He was an avid pilot. Craig always wanted to soar above us all on the wings of an airplane. He successfully accomplished this in 1996 when he received his private pilot license. He is soaring above us now, watching over his family and friends.
He enjoyed the company of his wife, Jean; they were rarely apart, especially after he retired. He was an accomplished tool and die maker/ designer/ engineer that worked most of his years at Manter Technologies. Craig enjoyed watching his son’s and grandchildren’s sports/ school/ band events, spanning over 46 years. He also enjoyed wood working and fixing anything that broke around the house. He dabbled in plumbing, electric, boat building, roofing, siding, painting, gutters, forestry, framing, auto mechanic, tractor and furnace repair, gardening, and snowmobile pit crew. He loved animals and his cats will miss his attention. Most recently, he befriended a chipmunk and was hand feeding it peanuts at his cabin up north.
Craig is survived by his wife, Jean; children, David (Kim), Daniel (Tracy), Adam (Vanessa); grandchildren, Hannah, Zach, Jake, Elizabeth, John, Kobe, Levi, Easton, Everett, Eli; brother, Cary (Sue); cousin Kurt; and nieces and nephews, Laura, Jeff, Chris, Alex, and Sadie.
