Conrad "Connie" Rettinger's Obituary
Conrad “Connie” Rettinger, age 83, of Marine City, Michigan, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of His Savior Jesus Christ, on November 21, 2018, with his son and daughter-in-law next to him.
Connie was born in St. Clair, Michigan on April 19, 1935, son of the late Conrad and Martha (Satchel) Rettinger. He was a husband, father, step father, grandfather, son and loyal friend to many.
Connie is survived by his son Rick (Laurie) Rettinger; Step sons, John, Joe, Jim (Robin) and Jeff Hamilton; grandchildren Christopher, Matthew and Sarah Rettinger, Janelle, Kristy (Shawn) Steinmetz and Brandon Hamilton, Gabrielle, Laurielle and Colton Hamilton and Dena and Haley Hamilton and great grandchildren, David and Quinten. He is also survived by his loving sister, Martha Delor, extended family Cindy (Tom) Wahl, John Vallie and David (Lonnie) Vallie and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary (Doktor) Rettinger who passed in August of 2010. Also by his father, Conrad and beloved mother, Martha (Satchel) Rettinger; his brother Fred, step son, Jerry Hamilton and Christi Dixon.
Connie was very well known in southeast Michigan as a top-of-the-line meat cutter and smoked sausage maker. People came from all around to buy from Connie’s Meat Processing on St. Clair Highway.
Connie loved visiting his cabin in Gould City up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Hunting over Thanksgiving and visiting with local friends was a great pleasure for him. He also loved fishing for steelhead in the St. Clair River and bowling at the Bomb Shelter Lanes in Port Huron.
