Clara Marie (Steinen) Cyplik's Obituary
Clara Marie (Steinen) Cyplik passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27th, 2017 at her home in Royal Oak, surrounded by the warmth and adoration of her immediate family. She was 83-years-old.
Born on December 3rd, 1933, in her childhood town of Houghton, MI, Clara’s beautiful, caring nature touched the lives of all that knew her. She married her beloved husband, the late Donald M. Cyplik, and they had five beautiful children together: Michael Gerard Cyplik, husband of Margie; Judith Marie (Cyplik) Bentley, wife of John; Kimberly Ann (Cyplik) Smith, wife of Gary; and she was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Kathleen Ann, and youngest son, James Donald. Proud grandmother of Jackie, Bradley, Nicole , Danielle, Stacey, Erin, Joseph, Ryan, Stephanie, Michael and 16 great grandchildren.
From the moment she became a wife and mother, her life was absolutely devoted to her family and their happiness. Growing up in the Cyplik household, love was abundant and support was given unconditionally. She involved herself in every detail of her children’s lives, and loved her husband absolutely.
Clara’s warmth and devotion also spread to the community around her. She gave 23 years of service as a switchboard operator at Holy Cross Hospital in Detroit, MI, where her colleagues — and more importantly, her friends — could always count on her to have a strong opinion and speak her mind. She was passionate about doing whatever she could to help others. Even after retirement, Clara couldn’t curb her passion for helping those around her. She spent her next 25 years post-retirement working as a customer service representative for Sears & Roebuck in Clinton Township, MI, and she officially retired (for the 2nd time) just shy of her 80th birthday from Walgreen’s in St. Clair Shores, MI.
Her passion to work stemmed from her desire to help and spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
