Charles Edward "Chuck" Salgot's Obituary
Charles Edward “Chuck” Salgot, 63, passed away on July 4, 2026, after a courageous, years-long battle with Ocular Melanoma.
Born on February 16, 1963, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, Chuck was the son of Charles Salgot and the late Carol Salgot. He faced his illness with remarkable strength, courage, and determination while never losing his sense of humor or his ability to brighten the lives of those around him.
Chuck will be remembered for his infectious laugh, kind heart, and remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially on the waters of Lake St. Clair, where fishing brought him peace and happiness. He treasured the friendships he shared with his neighbors, who became like extended family.Above all, Chuck was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. His greatest joy came from simply being with those he loved—whether cheering on Detroit sports, listening to music or enjoying a day of fishing with his dog Astro.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Kimberly Salgot; his three sons, Christopher, Andrew, and Charlie Salgot; his father, Charles Salgot; his sisters, Dawn (Dave) Latorre and Donna (Brad) Amey; and his sister-in-law, Teri Salgot.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Salgot, and his brother, Bryan Salgot.
He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In keeping with Chuck’s wishes, private family services will be held.
