Chuck Rowloff was indeed a great welder but an even better person! I always loved his demeanor, as an employee at Research. He was always very supportive and kind to me and others. I never worried about Chuck's ability or willingness to get a job done, no matter how challenging. When it came to welding and fabrication, he was an expert. I am sure his family, friends, former co-workers will all miss him greatly. I'm thankful for the hope that we have have in Christ. Because he lives, we shall live also. "To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord!" Rest on Chuck, rest on...we'll see you in the morning! Ron White

I worked with Chuck back in 1975 at Alco Corp and then later at GM Research from 1993 on. Throughout the years I have told many people about the finest welder I ever knew. When I owned my sailboat I had the occasional jobs that Chuck helped me with. When he knew it was for my boat he would put down the nicest and strongest weld you would ever see. The first time I met Chuck the guys at Alco had me set up, I took something back to him to weld and sat down to wait. When I closed my eyes to avoid the flash he touched the welding wire to the stool I was on and gave me a jolt and I jumped off my seat. It was all in good fun and was my initiation. Chuck was one of the nicest and kindest people I've known. RIP my friend.

I worked afternoons at R&D for years, then when the afternoon shift workers were placed on days, I met Chuck and we were instant friends! I had taken a welding class at Wayne State, for art sculpturing in metal, and he taught me as much in his work shop than what I learned in class. He was a patient man, kindhearted, humorous, intelligent, and would do a "government job" for you in a heartbeat. He enjoyed helping you solve a problem, which he often did with his welding skills. When he retired from Research there was a loss in the welding/fabrication shop as his giant personality was missed. Chuck's good nature and great working ethics truly made an impact at R&D! When I think of Chuck
it's always with warm and pleasant thoughts....sorry for your loss, he will be remembered!
I'm so sorry to hear of this. Chuck was always the go to guy if I needed any welding done. He could even weld wood. Always enjoyed conversation about cars and racing with him. Even though it has been years since I worked with him I have very fond memories of Chuck.
(I am out of town so I won't be able to make the service. ). RIP
I will always remember Cubby as a person that would stop his work and to help a friend. I remember Cubby helping me to fix my out drive on my boat. He thought me how to fish for Walleye on the St Clair river. I made it a point to stop and see him if I was in the area.
Cubby will be missed. God Bless the Rowloff Family , Thamks for the good memories
