Charles E. Daniel's Obituary
Charles E. Daniel, age 69, of Marine City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday May 9, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on November 1, 1942 in St. Clair, Michigan to the late Charles W. and Edna (Louise) Daniel, graduated from Marine City High School in 1961, served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, married the love of his life Barbara DeRue on October 26, 1963, attended St. Clair Community College, then retired from Chrysler corporation after 43 years of service as a material controller.
Chuck was known a “Bumpa” to all of his grandchildren which he loved and supported in all of their school activities. His hobbies included camping, woodworking, fishing, barbequing, watching U of M football and the Detroit Tigers.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years , Barb, seven children, Samantha Daniel, Chrissy (Joe) Quandt, Jamie (Tom) Kaminski, Chuck Jr. (Brenda) Daniel all of Marine City, Mick (Marnie) Daniel of Travelers Rest South Carolina, Shawna (Chris) Couwlier of Sterling Heights and Jason Daniel of Port Huron, his seventeen grandchildren, Mitchel, Macullen, Marlee Daniel, Joey, Kyle, Trevor, Ryan, Jacob Quandt, Kelsey, Erica, Tommy Kaminski, Charlie, Nate, Riley Daniel, Mackenzie, Chloe Couwlier and Savannah Daniel. He is also survived by his sister Connie (Joe) Young and his mother in-law Leona DeRue-Daniel of Marine City and many friends, family and over 200 foster kids that he cared for over the last 40 years.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday May 14 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be from 1-4:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
