Caty M. de Graaf's Obituary
Caty M. de Graaf of Marine City passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on May 10 in Utrecht, Holland, to the late Kees and Marie Geelen, and carried a deep pride in her Dutch roots and childhood memories.
Caty was a woman of strong Catholic faith and a devoted parishioner of Holy Cross Church. She faithfully prayed the rosary and, in later years, received Communion at home when she was no longer able to attend Mass. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella for a time.
She is survived by her beloved son, Maurice; her grandchildren, Amanda, Cody, Cassie, and Clark; her great-grandchildren, Quinn, Gwen, and Violet; and two surviving siblings. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Helma whom she loved deeply.
Caty was known for her sharp memory, love of card and dice games, and her gift for storytelling. She loved sharing stories from her childhood and often joked about how much she talked. Her strength, faith, and warmth will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
