Catherine "Anne" Westrick's Obituary
Catherine “Anne” Westrick, age 89, of East China Twp., passed away December 14, 2023. She was born January 9, 1934 in St. Clair to the late Mildred Christy and Henry LaCroix. On November 6, 1954 Anne married Edward Westrick Sr. He preceded her in death in 2014.
Anne worked hand in hand with her husband, Ed, through all his business ventures. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting and displayed her competitive side when playing a spirited game of cards. Not afraid of hard work, Anne enjoyed working outside on her home or in the yard. Anne was a member of the Carlton School Mother’s Card Club for over 60 years. Later in life Anne enjoyed her home on the river, watching and tracking the freighters. She would often share the beauty of the ships and the river by sending pictures to her family and friends. Anne was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed.
Anne is survived by her children, Donna (Charles) Treppa, Nancy (Ken) Kulman, Edward Jr. (Pamela) Westrick, Susan (Bob) Schmid and Jeff (Kathy) Westrick; grandchildren, Melissa and Charlie Jr. Treppa, Jason Kulman, Rebecca Patton, Edward Westrick III, Michelle Hool, Michael LaDuke, Laura Pacek, Zachary Schmid, Brianna Koveck; nine great grandsons and eight great granddaughters; siblings, Harold “Jim” LaCroix and Mary Blake; brothers in law and sisters in law, Joyce Cooley, Ken Westrick, Katie Distelrath, Vern and Margie Westrick, Alfred Westrick, Jack and Alyce Westrick, Gail Westrick and Mary Louise Westrick and many nieces and nephews.
Anne was preceded in death by her grandson, Maxwell Westrick, daughter in law, Wendy Westrick and sisters, Carol Vogler and Margaret Naeyaert.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Monday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recital at 3:00 p.m.
