Caroline F. Cencer's Obituary
Caroline F. Cencer, age 86, of St. Clair, passed away at home on February 9, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 10, 1938 in Yale to the late Joseph and Stella Sonnenfeld.
She married Richard Cencer on May 26, 1962. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1993.
She was a very active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was the chairperson of running the White Elephant tent at the annual Fall Festival for 40 years. She was also a former member of the Rosary Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella. Carol enjoyed gardening, bowling, and tending to her cats.
She is survived by her children; Kevin (Kristie) Cencer and Deborah Cencer.
She is also survived by her grandchildren; Benjamin (Marie) Cencer, Nicholas (Emily) Cencer, Reilly (Josh) Fobbe, Gage Cencer, Noah Cencer, and Samantha Cencer (James Brenner) and great-grandchildren; Reyna and Ryder Brenner.
Also surviving are her siblings; Sr. Maria Sonnefeld, Richard Sonnenfeld, John (Chris) Sonnenfeld, and Rosemary (Joe) Tenyer, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Sr. Therese Sonnenfeld, Walter Sonnenfeld and Elizabeth LeRay.
The family would like to thank Tabitha Adams for her care and compassion.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 14 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting will be held at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. We will then process to church for mass.
