Carol Marie Riedel's Obituary
Carol Marie Riedel, age 84, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home on April 24, 2025. She was born in Detroit on September 11, 1940 to the late Harry and Anne FitzJohn.
She married Joseph Riedel on May 7, 1960. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2024.
Carol worked for Ford Motor Company for over 40 years working her way up the ranks. She started out in data entry, spent many years as a Quality Engineer, and retired as an Assistant Plant Manager. Upon her retirement she opened two Curves for Women franchises in Florida.
She enjoyed traveling very much and traveled to multiple countries across 4 continents. She also enjoyed trips to Disney with family and friends. Most of all she enjoyed her time spent with her daughter and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter; Sara Riedel and granddaughters; Anne, Margaret and Elisabeth Volpe.
She is also survived by her sisters; Judy Elsholz and Kathleen (Richard) Deaner, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be from 12:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 4 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Rosary will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
