Carol Heckmann's Obituary
Carol Heckmann, age 69, of St. Clair, died December 8, 2015. On October 9, 1971 Carol Fidler married Eric Heckmann in Detroit. Carol was an executive secretary at the Detroit News for over 10 years and subsequently at Wayne State University for 18 years.
She loved animals and was a longtime supporter of the Michigan Humane Society. She also enjoyed and supported Detroit Public Television. Carol loved to travel and made several trips to England. She enjoyed plays and would sometimes attend three to four in one day. She also had a deep interest in reading mystery books by a variety of authors.
She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 44 years, Eric Heckmann, siblings; Charlotte (Larry) Porter and Alan (Pam) Fidler, nieces and nephews; Susan (Fidler) (Aaron) Athearn, Guy Fidler, Jason Porter, Jonathon Porter, Brett Fidler, Kerry and Amanda Fidler, Susan Kurrle, Allen (Jodie) Kurrle, Phillip (Kim) Heckmann, Jeffery (Shonee) Heckmann and Mary Kaye Heckmann, great nieces and great nephews; Rachelle Kurrle, Allen Kurrle III, Mariah Kurrle and Amber Kurrle, sisters in law and brothers in law; Rose Kurrle and Rudy (Susan) Heckmann and the families of Paul Ross and Frank Ross.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Warren and Ruth Fidler and brother, George Fidler.
