Carol Ann Bougenoy's Obituary
Carol Ann Bougenoy, age 78, of China Twp., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 19, 2024. She was born November 3, 1945 in Detroit to the late Andrew "Jim" and Valeria Maitland.
She married Jules Bougenoy on July 6, 1963 in Marine City.
Carol was a real estate agent in the Blue Water area for over 40 years. She worked very hard to establish continuing education classes for local realtors.
She volunteered her time to China Twp. working on the planning commission as well as at the election polls. Carol also spent her time volunteering at the City of St. Clair Museum and at Christmas time she organized the Toys for Tots campaign for local youth. She was a longtime member of the St. Clair American Legion Women's Auxiliary as well.
She enjoyed going to garage sales, traveling with Jules and hosting karaoke parties. Spending time with her grandchildren is what she cherished most of all.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years; Jules Bougenoy and her children; Randy (Cheri) Bougenoy and Lynn (Mark) Hodgins.
She is also survived by her grandchildren; Ryan Bougenoy (Sony), Rachel Bougenoy (Eric), Lexie Schroeder, Tiffany Spranger (Chad), Trevor Hodgins and Adam (Autumn) Hodgins, her great-grandchildren; Isabella Rose, Bryson and Aidan, and Nicho, her sisters; Barbara Klieman (Al) and Catherine Maitland, special niece; Amy (Kyle) Turner, nephew; Butch Klieman as well as other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister; Janet Westrick.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to service. Memorials may be made to family wishes.
