Captain Kyle Malcolm's Obituary
Captain Kyle Malcolm of the Great Lakes, age 48, of Clay Twp., passed away unexpectedly on December 16, 2025. He was born on December 23rd, 1976 to David and the late Sandy Malcolm. Kyle married the love of his life, Katherine Miracle on September 7, 2018. He was the proud owner and Captain of The Tug Cisco. Kyles passion for tugs began at a young age, he spent most of his childhood working and learning under his grandfather, Captain Keith Malcolm. Kyle turned that passion into his career. He took great pride in running a successful business. Dedicating his life to constantly improving his craft in marine construction. That passion carried on to his son, Brennon, where Kyle cherished teaching him and passing the torch of all the ins and outs that his grandfather and father taught him. When Kyle wasn’t working, he enjoyed entertaining friends and family on the Cisco. He was a man of good faith, who built a strong relationship with the Lord and prayer. Kyle was loved by many friends. His adventurous spirit and bright smile will be missed by all who knew him.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Katherine Malcolm; beloved children, Cecilia, Clint, Brennon, step children, Bailey and Gabby; father, David (Claudia) Malcolm; brothers, Keith (Jessi) Malcolm, Kevin Malcolm; aunts and uncles, Don (Jane), Bob (Diane), Debbie (John), Gary, Darlene, Barbara; his faithful companions, Blue, Sandy, Chuck, as well as several special cousins, family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandy Malcolm; grandparents, Captain Keith (Barb) Malcolm, Larry (Arvilla) Russell
A funeral service will take place on Sunday, December 21st, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
