Brenda Joyce Albo's Obituary
Brenda Joyce Albo (Harris), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family after a journey with dementia on May 14, 2025. She was born March 28, 1955 in Detroit. She attended Melvindale High School.
Brenda was the devoted wife of Anthony Albo and loving mother to her six children, Thomas Sarkody, Christie Sarkody, Scott Sarkody, Anthony (Kyla) Albo, Joshua (Emily) Albo and Ashley Albo. She was also a cherished grandmother to Chloe Sarkody, Kailey Sarkody, Dustan Mizell, Scottie Sarkody and Amara Albo. Her heart extended beyond people to her two adorable fur babies, Lily and Isabelle, who brought her daily comfort and joy.
Brenda had a deep love for life’s simple and beautiful moments. She found joy in dancing to music, her spirit always lighting up at the sound of a favorite song. Nature was her sanctuary, she held a special fondness for butterflies, hummingbirds and dragonflies, which she believed were gentle messengers of peace and transformation.
When Brenda loved, she did so with her whole heart. She cherished her husband, Tony, with that same deep devotion–they were married on July 4, 1989, and shared a bond rooted in love, laughter and unwatering support. For those who knew her well, her love was reflected in the warmth of her home—filled with joyful knickknacks that brought her true happiness and told stories of a life well lived.
Even as dementia took pieces of her memory, Brenda’s heart remembered what mattered most. Though she may not have always recognized the faces of her loved ones or recalled the names that tied them together, she always called out for her husband, Tony. His name was her comfort, her constant—her safety in the fog of confusion.
Her warmth, laughter, and loving presence will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Though dementia may have touched her mind, it never dimmed her spirit or the love she gave so freely.
Brenda leaves behind a legacy of strength, love and grace. She will forever be remembered in the songs she loved, the little things she admired and in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to be loved by her.
As Brenda always said “Never say bye—always say see you later.”
Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 31st at 4:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visitation prior to the service will be from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.
