Betty J. Zaremba's Obituary
Betty J. Zaremba, age 91, of St. Clair, died November 21, 2016. She was born May 16, 1925 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
Betty graduated from Cheboygan High School. Her working career started in Cheboygan at Michigan Bell Telephone as an operator. She was also a career seamstress. Later Betty attended Port Huron Business School, graduated then worked as a secretary at the Diamond Crystal Salt Co.
She was well known for her love of costumes. She would show up as a bunny at Easter, Mrs. Claus at Christmas, a pilgrim at Thanksgiving or a leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day. Her love of family, fun and costumes made her a favorite of friends, colleagues and casual acquaintances.
Betty married Robert Johnson June 10, 1946 and he preceded her in death. She later married Ben Zaremba, whom also predeceased her.
She is survived by her children; Jane (Keith) Molin, Jacquelyn Arnold, Dan (Deb) Johnson, Pete (Nancy) Johnson, Mary Ellen (Al) Salem, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, a sister, Patricia Dalka and sister-in-law, Helen DeFrain. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Johnson.
