Betty Jean Ceder's Obituary
Betty Jean Ceder, age 91, of Algonac, passed away April 15, 2022. Betty was born September 29, 1930 to the late Jose and Beulah Gutierrez (aka grandpa and grandma Jess).
On May 12, 1951 Betty married Henry Harry Ceder, he preceded her in death in 2012. After working for Bell Telephone, Betty and her husband owned and operated Henry’s Restaurant in partnership with John and Gale Brenner for 32 years in Algonac. Betty enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for the restaurant and also made sure all the flowers were arranged to perfection.
She was a gifted artist and loved oil painting. She and her husband traveled extensively. Many times their destination was Texas and Mexico. Betty and Henry would often times travel to Mexico loaded with food and clothing and donate these items to families in need.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda Furtah; son, Russell J. (Pam) Ceder; grandchildren, Greg (Sonja) Furtah, Michael (Shannon) Furtah, Brian (Lynn) Furtah, Jessica (Shawn) Tetler, Sarah Ceder (Daniel Lee), Christopher and Michael Ceder and Justin Fett; great grandchildren, Zachary and Ian Tetler, Dylan Lee, Isabelle and Chloe Furtah, Cameron and Trenton Furtah, Kaylie Ceder, Julie and Michael Joy, Jeramie and Chitmanat Mason and Jasmine Koss; great great grandchildren, Remington, Mason and Reecilyn Joy and Binbin Mason; sisters, Margaret Jeanguenat and Joan Gutierrez and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son in law Larry Furtah; brother, Jess Gutierrez and sister, Ann VanBeek.
Betty’s family wishes to thank Visions AFC in St. Clair and Accent Care Hospice for their compassionate loving care given to Betty.
