Bernard "Bernie" Vandenbossche's Obituary
Bernard “Bernie” Vandenbossche, age 82, of China Twp., passed away August 19, 2024. Bernie was born September 3, 1941 in Mt. Clemens to the late Daniel and Mary Vandenbossche. On February 7, 1970 Bernie married Audrey Warren in Port Huron.
Bernie proudly served his country with the U.S. Army, as did each of his brothers. For 31 years Bernie was Assistant Superintendent at Maple Lane Golf Course in Sterling Heights, retiring in 1997. He was also co-owner of Vandenbossche Farms in China Twp. Bernie was a hard working man that took great pride in what he did. This was evident in the way he loved cutting his grass and maintaining his yard. Bernie also enjoyed restoring antique tractors. He was also a lifetime member of K of C Council #856, Marine City.
Bernie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Audrey Vandenbossche; sons, David (Jennifer) Vandenbossche and Jeff (Paula) Vandenbossche; grandchildren, Kaylie, Emily and Daniel Vandenbossche; sister, Margaret (William) McCulley and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31st at 9:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
Visiting hours are Friday, August 30th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
