Bernie gave so much for our country, and I will always be grateful to him. I was always concerned as he carried a lot of poor memories from that era of his life. I'm glad I had the opportunity to have some great conversations with him in the few times we saw each other since St. A's. I just wish we had more of them.

I"m sure glad I had the pleasure of sharing a table with Bernie, John, Ron and each of our spouses at the 70th Birthday gathering. One of the subjects we touched was the Vietnam war and subsequent feelings. Bernie was a true war hero who was able to forgive and set a positive life direction.
