Beatrice "Pat" Schweihofer's Obituary
Beatrice “Pat” Schweihofer, age 89, of China Twp., died February 6, 2017. She was born October 26, 1927 in St. Clair to the late Edward and Augusta Adamson. On January 15, 1949 Beatrice married James Schweihofer. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2011.
Pat served her community and parish family well. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Rosary Alter Society and funeral luncheon committee. She also was a religious education instructor, organized and worked the St. Mary’s Festival White Elephant, participated with the Michigan State Extension Program and was prayer leader for the first Saturday holy rosary devotion.
Sewing, flowers and birds were among the many things she enjoyed. Her family will remember her delicious cinnamon rolls and how she loved spending time up north with her family and friends.
She is survived by her ten children, Tony (Nancy), John (Penny), Gerald (Ann), Janet (Tony) Distelrath, Betty (Jerry) McLeod, Kenny (JoAnn), Eileen (Mark) Rumbaugh, Paul (Debbie), Mary (Joe) Thibert and William; 25 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Brothers in law and sisters in law, Phil Cataldo, Donna Schweihofer, Pete and Anna Schweihofer, Ben and Anne Schweihofer, Dave and Dorothy Schweihofer, Mary Rhein, Joseph Wathen, Joan and John Paling, Josephine Long and Anette and Bob Burgess and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Jimmy and Scott Rumbaugh, Adam Schweihofer and Matthew McLeod; sisters, Alice (Harry) Rybinski and Doris Cataldo; brother, Thomas Adamson; brothers in law, Joseph Schweihofer and Francis Schweihofer and sister in law, Dorothy Ann Wathen.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Rosary recital will be Thursday at 7 p.m. Funeral service Friday, February 10th will begin at 10:15 a.m. at Young Funeral Home followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
