Barbara Ann Gill's Obituary
Barbara Ann Gill, age 80 of East China Twp., passed away December 30, 2023. She was currently the longest surviving multi myeloma patient in Michigan. Barb was born February 25, 1943 in Port Huron to the late Vernon Sr. and Evelyn Hill of Avoca, Michigan.
Barb graduated from Yale High School in 1961. She worked at the Econ-O-Wash Laundromat and Dry Cleaning in Marine City and Algonac for many years. Barb was an independent lady that loved her morning coffee every day. For many years, Barb and her husband Malcolm enjoyed wintering in their Florida home. Even after his passing Barb would make the drive to Florida by herself for many years. She was also a meticulous record keeper, journaling everything from medical visits to household bookkeeping. Barb also looked forward to her monthly lunches with her lady friends from the Class of 61.
Barb is survived by her daughter and son in law, Lisa and Jeff Cottrell; step son, Larry Gill; brother Vernon Jr. (Lynn) Hill and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm L. Gill, one grandson, three step sons, one step daughter and a sister.
A private family graveside service has been conducted.
