Barbara Camphausen's Obituary
Barbara J. Camphausen, 63, of St. Clair, passed away October 11, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She has joined our special angels in heaven.
She was born December 3, 1947 in Detroit to the late John & Sarah (Jewel) Martichuski. She married the love of her life Cary Camphausen on December 20, 1974. She was a graduate of Richmond High School, but spent most of her school years in the Memphis Schools. She attended St. Clair Community College.
Barbara had a love for gardening and flowers. Her porch flower boxes and backyard garden never went without a compliment by anyone walking by. She had won many Art awards and served as the President of the St. Clair Art Association. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 2300. She loved reading, writing and making a home for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Cary; daughters Michelene (John) Distelrath, and Roberta (Joe) Springborn; grandchildren Mitchell & James Springborn and Madeline Distelrath; brother John Martichuski, mother-in-law Gloria Camphausen, sister-in-law Jill (Mark) Kwasniewski, brother-in-law Dale Camphausen; extended family Marlene Morey, Nancy (Rex) Griswold, Jim (Karen) Ellis, Mark Ellis & Bert (Michelle) Ellis. Dear friends Denny Kleinhans, Ken & Peggy Basnaw, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.
A very special thank you to her long time physician Dr. Nakhleh & his staff. His special care for over 30 years gave her great comfort.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, October 15th at Young Funeral Home, China Twp at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting Hours will be Friday, October 14th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. www.youngcolonial.com
