August J. Kaatz's Obituary
August J. Kaatz Jr. age 88, of Marine City, died February 9, 2010.
He was born January 15, 1922 in Marine City to the late August Sr. and Minnie Kaatz.
On January 19, 1946 August married Marion Erdman, she preceded him in death in 1993.
August was a lifetime area dairy farmer and member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Marine City.
He is survived by children;
Gary (Terrie) Kaatz, Cheryl (Roy) Smith, Marvin Kaatz, Connie (Roger) Kierszykowski, Brenda (John) Highstreet, and Darrin (Amy) Kaatz.
16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister Lillian Barthel and brothers Frederick, Otto, and Elmer Kaatz.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Marine City. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City.
Visiting hours are Thursday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Twp. and Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society
