Arthur "Art" Reichle's Obituary
Arthur “Art” Reichle, age 88, of St. Clair passed away peacefully March 15, 2024. He was born April 22,1935 in Marine City to the late Glen and Edith (Shovan) Reichle. Art attended Eddy Elementary School and after went to a small country school house on Yankee Road and then went to work on the family farm. He proudly served with the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Hood, in Texas and was honorably discharged in 1960. Following the time in the Army, he went on to Pine River Plastics, worked 2 jobs, while building his first home
Art met his wife Lorenza Gutierrez, by writing letters back and forth, talking on the phone every week. After a couple visits to the islands of the Philippines he and Lorenza moved back to St. Clair. They married February 14, 1998.
Art owned a small machine shop, next to his home, and gas station. Then went on to bigger adventures to building on to Reichle’s Party Plus in St. Clair from 1964 to 1998. Where he sold Gliems bologna and hot dogs, which was a huge success for him. He was a workaholic and would on many occasions work 6 days 12 hours a day. He loved gardening and taking care of flowers, fishing, hunting, feeding and watching birds, cooking and hosting BBQ’s, classic cars and his love of animals was unmatched. He liked singing karaoke, listening to country music, especially Johnny Cash. He also enjoyed taking countryside drives with his wife and stopping at any garage sale that they happened to pass.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lorenza; children, Kimberly Reynolds, Linda (Dave Perkins) Carnahan, Donna (Don) Stefforia; grandchildren, Glen Tomkowiak, Vanessa (Tim) Humbach, Joe Tomkowiak, Cody Carnahan, Amber Carnahan, Chase Carnahan, Heather (Andrew) Graham, Stanley Liniarski, Hunter Stefforia; great grandchildren, Wyatt Humbach, Remi Humbach, Elliott Humbach; siblings, Gary Reichle; fur baby Buster along with many nieces and nephews.
Art is preceded in death by the mother of his children; Barbara Ann (Nowinski) Reichle; his brother Glen “Jim” Reichle and son Bernard “Ben” Shovan.
A funeral service will be held on Monday March 25, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. with visiting on Sunday March 24, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. along with one hour prior to service on Monday.
